Branding, a far less recognized form of body art, with one of a kind medical concerns, will be a great deal more restricted. No member could possibly have more than one brand anywhere on their own body. The brand may not go over 4 inches in diameter. As with tattoos, brands may not be visible on the head, neck, face, or hands. Our policy relating to body piercing is also shifting significantly. No piercings, other than those people for earrings as described below, shall be made throughout the ear, nose, tongue, face, eyebrow, or any other body part that will be visible while in any standard. This prohibition applies to male and female associates alike and is specifically that will limit the less than military appearance associated with vacant openings in the face and other exposed parts of the body. Other piercings concealed by the even such as the navel or erect nipples are strongly discouraged due to potential for infection and health complications. Under no circumstances shall such concealed piercings and also accompanying jewelry be observable through, or interfere with, the actual professional appearance of the member in uniform. Piercings in the head shall not exceed not one but two per ear lobe and would be small and inconspicuous. Additional piercings from the ear lobes and cartilage tend to be prohibited. Guidance regarding the donning of earrings by women of all ages while in uniform, can be found in Consistent Regulations, comdtinst M1020.6. All members are prohibited from using forms of facial jewelry when it’s in uniform, on board a army installation, or while joining a command sponsored event. Those people personnel with preexisting unwanted piercings shall discontinue the use of those people piercings to allow for eventual healing.
