With Winnipeg Blue Bombers temporary tattoos on his face, it was clear which team 71-year-old Ted Middleton was cheering on last night in the 99th Grey Cup.

Middleton — a Bomber fan for more than 40 years — watched his team take on the B.C. Lions at Tavern United with friends.

"It’s great to see them in the Grey Cup," Middleton said.

It was a disappointing end for the Bombers, with a final score of 34-23.

"Every year I finish up saying, ‘That’s it, I’m not going to support them anymore.’ But the next year I always support them again," Middleton said.

B.C. won at home in front of a sell-out crowd of 54,313. The Lions opened the season 0-5.

Joe Beeverz Bar and Grill offered patrons blue beer and all-you-can-eat Bomber burgers while the game was on. Bomber flags on the windows and a truck with a strobe light and Bomber decals attracted fans to the local sports bar.

Jordan Jones, 23, watched the game at the bar with his friends.
