There are no pictures of racy or shirtless guys. It’s not that kind of calendar.

“It’s regular people you see every day,” said committee members Koryn Young. “It’s not a whole bunch of muscle guys.”

The nine women on the committee that put the calendar together decided it should be entirely whimsical.

“It’s designed to bring awareness to our community organization,” she said. “We do a lot of things to preserve the historic neighborhood. It’s a fun kind of thing. We were thinking, ‘How do we get a fun group of people to come and live downtown?’ We came up with the calendar.”

Young said they put the word out for nominations and decided upon 29 men of varying age, race and background.

One of the calendar’s quirks is the fact that an image of Rabbi Larry Schlesinger, who’s also a Macon City Council member, is hidden in every photo in a “Where’s Waldo?” type of game. Young said it’s more difficult to spot Schlesinger in the pictures featured on some of the calendar’s months.
